Regional Flood Alerts and local Flood Warnings have been issued as Scotland is set to deal with further persistent and heavy rain which may bring significant flooding impacts over large parts of Scotland over the next two days.

We have issued three severe flood warnings for the Aviemore area due to heavy and prolonged rainfall overnight. Very high river levels are forecast for the early hours of Tuesday morning across the Spey River. There is a danger to life.

Multiple regional Flood Alerts and local Flood Warnings remain in place across north and central Scotland, with the highest risks remaining on the Spey, Great Glen and Tay catchments.

Widespread river flooding impacts remain possible in particular in the Spey Valley and the Great Glen area, whilst the high river levels across north and central Scotland are expected to gradually improve throughout Wednesday.

The Met Office has issued Red and Amber wind warnings in Scotland for Storm Éowyn.

SEPA has issued regional Flood Alerts and local Flood warnings across the western coast of Scotland as Storm Éowyn arrives.
