This activity applies to the abstraction of water from a freshwater loch, where all of the abstracted water is discharged back to the same loch.

Standard conditions
Your registration application will only be granted if you can confirm you are able to comply with the standard conditions set out below.
If you carry out an activity under a registration authorisation you must comply with the standard conditions. It is an offence if you do not comply with the conditions.
SEPA will not authorise this activity if it poses an unacceptable risk to the environment.
The discharge must not have a significant impact on the water environment as a result of:
- iridescence or sheen;
- discolouration;
- deposition of solids;
- increased foaming; or
- microbiological growth.
No substances should be added to or allowed to enter the abstracted water prior to discharge to the loch.
The temperature of the abstracted water should not be altered prior to discharge to the loch.
The abstraction and the equipment used for the abstraction must not cause harm to fish.
