  • Surrender an existing authorisation

Applying to surrender an authorisation

You must apply to surrender an authorisation if you intend to or have stopped carrying on the activity and the authorisation is no longer needed, or it is intended to reduce the geographical extent of the authorised place. This can be the surrender of the whole authorisation or just part of the authorisation.

There may be a fee to surrender a permit or registration (in whole or part). Read our charging information for information on the application fees to surrender an authorisation.

To apply to surrender a landfill permit, email landfill@sepa.org.uk
