Persistent rainfall will continue throughout Friday 23rd and into the weekend for Aberdeenshire, Angus and Tayside, bringing the possibility of further flooding impacts.

Continued heavy and persistent rain throughout Thursday 22nd and into Friday 23rd will lead to flooding impacts affecting communities across central and northeastern Scotland.

A period of extended heavy and persistent rainfall from the evening of Wednesday 21st through until Friday 23rd will result in flooding impacts in central and northeastern Scotland. Impacts will include disruption to travel and impacts for communities through localised flooding of land, roads and flooding of properties. We continue to work with the Met Office to monitor the situation 24/7 and will issue regional Flood Alerts and local Flood Warnings as necessary.

Following the weekend weather conditions of heavy rain and melting snow across Scotland, we are continuing to see impacts from surface water flooding.

Continuing heavy rain, combined with melting snow, increases the risk of flooding. Flood risk is greatest in Dumfries and Galloway, and the west and north of Scotland.

With less rainfall than expected overnight last night SEPA has taken the decision to de-escalate our Amber Area of Concern for today.
