SEPA officers joined partners from Police Scotland, Revenue Scotland and HMRC on Tuesday 21 February 2023 for a Day of Action, carrying out inspections in the Johnstone area and appealing to local residents and businesses.

SEPA is appealing for information from the local community on the Isle of Bute after septic tank waste was found disposed of in a woodland near Loch Quien.

Today (12 November 2024), the VIBES Scottish Environment Business Awards recognised the innovative and sustainable practices of businesses at its 25th anniversary event.

In 2025 the highest number of Scotland's bathing waters on record will meet the best environmental standards, with 87% achieving Excellent or Good classifications. A further 10% will meet the Sufficient standard.
