Advice against bathing at Monifieth bathing water
Date published: 07 July 2023
“Following a routine bathing water sample, SEPA have confirmed an ongoing pollution incident potentially affecting Monifieth bathing waters.
“Sample results indicated a higher-than-expected bacterial count, and the bathing water will continue to be closely monitored. Electronic bathing water signs have been updated to notify users of the pollution incident and to avoid bathing and paddling as a precautionary measure. Precautionary advice against bathing will remain in place until SEPA are satisfied this incident is not impacting water quality at Monifieth.
“SEPA officers are continuing to investigate the incident to establish the source and will explore any further mitigation measures that are required.
“We would encourage anyone concerned about a potential pollution incident to contact on 0800 80 70 60 as soon as possible or through our online form."
A spokesperson for SEPA said.
