The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have removed advice against bathing at Dhoon Bay following a nearby pollution incident.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) are investigating an ongoing pollution incident at Dhoon Bay due to a slurry spill which began on Wednesday 19th June.

Following reports of dogs becoming unwell after entering the River Don at Kemnay in May 2024, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have confirmed there is no evidence of recent or ongoing pollution.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have updated their advice on bathing at Heads of Ayr after the latest water quality samples showed no risk to the public.

As a result of analysis of routine samples, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have indicated a high bacterial result at the Heads of Ayr bathing water in Ayrshire. As this has the potential to impact human health, signage has been posted to advise the public.
