As a result of analysis of routine samples, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have indicated a high bacterial result at the Heads of Ayr bathing water in Ayrshire. As this has the potential to impact human health, signage has been posted to advise the public.

Following reports of dogs becoming unwell after entering the River Don at Kemnay in May 2024, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have confirmed there is no evidence of recent or ongoing pollution.
