Grangemouth Regulatory Hub
Overview
The Grangemouth Regulatory Hub supports delivery of the Scottish Government's Grangemouth Industrial Just Transition Plan through transparent, efficient, and effective regulation. It promotes collaboration between industry, regulators, the community and others to support innovation, improve environmental performance, and develop forward-thinking regulatory approaches.
The hub aims to create strong partnerships that support delivery of a just transition to net zero and facilitate innovation in ways that continue to protect communities and the environment.

Community and business support
The hub offers Grangemouth businesses and communities help to access the latest regulatory data, environmental data and expert advice. We will support you with guidance on regulatory processes, resource efficiency and waste management, and share insights that support the wider Grangemouth cluster. Our goal is to make it easier for businesses to operate sustainably and meet legal requirements.
Working together for a better environment
We believe that collaboration leads to better outcomes. By working together, we can help deliver sustainable economic growth and ensure Grangemouth continues to be an environmentally responsible place to live and work. If you have a project that would benefit from a collaborative regulatory approach please get in touch.
How we use Outcome Based Collaborative Regulation
Outcome Based Collaborative Regulation (OBCR) is an emerging evidence-based model for regulation, in which stakeholders work together, on the basis of trust and respect, to achieve shared aims and outcomes.
Approaches aligned to OBCR have been implemented and are emerging in various regulatory regimes around the world. They have been shown to improve engagement between stakeholders, increase regulatory efficiency and help facilitate innovation.
To learn more about OBCR you can read about our recent project funded by the UK Government's Regulators Pioneer Fund (RPF). The RPF is a grant-based fund to enable UK regulators and local authorities to help create a UK regulatory environment that encourages business innovation and investment.
We have also developed OBCR e-learning and work package summaries - please contact us for more details.
