People across Scotland are being invited to share their experiences of local flooding issues to help inform how flood risk is managed in their communities, as work continues on Scotland’s next Flood Risk Management Plans.

Storm Chandra will move in from the west on Tuesday bringing further heavy and persistent rainfall, snow and high winds.

Residents and businesses across the Scottish Borders are being encouraged to sign up to SEPA’s free Floodline service, which has been enhanced to deliver more accurate and localised flood warnings, helping protect communities and better prepare them for flooding.

“A period of unsettled weather is expected on Tuesday 11 April, with strong winds and heavy rain forecast in southwest Scotland.

“The risk of flooding for coastal areas in Scotland is expected to continue over the coming days due to large waves and strong winds, combined with storm surge and high spring tides. More than 40 Regional Flood Alerts and Local Flood Warnings are in place.

“SEPA has issued over 30 Regional Flood Alerts and Local Flood Warnings, focused around the west coast, northern coastline and islands over the coming days. Impacts are expected to be localised and around high tides.
