Dry weather has led to more Scottish river catchments moving through the water scarcity levels, according to the latest report from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

More parts of Scotland have moved into water scarcity following another week of exceptionally dry weather, with several areas now close to Significant Scarcity.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have introduced temporary restrictions on water abstraction in the Whiteadder Water and Berwickshire areas after prolonged dry conditions led to Significant Water Scarcity being declared.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have extended temporary restrictions on licensed water abstraction after the Lower Tweed, Lower Don and Lunan Water reached Significant Water Scarcity following prolonged dry conditions.
