The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have removed advice against bathing at Dhoon Bay following a nearby pollution incident.

Signage was changed on Wednesday 19th June to advise against bathing as a precautionary measure following reports from members of the public of a pollution incident impacting a watercourse in the vicinity of Dhoon Bay.

The pollution incident has been resolved. Officers have confirmed the affected burn is now running visibly clear and should not impact water quality at the bathing water. Signage advising against bathing has been removed.

A spokesperson for SEPA said:

“Following reports of a pollution incident, SEPA can confirm the pollution incident has now been resolved and the precautionary advice issued at Dhoon Bay against bathing has now been removed.

“We would urge anyone concerned about a potential pollution incident to immediately contact SEPA on 0800 80 70 60 or through our online form."
