The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) have been made aware of a fire at Greengairs Landfill Site, North Lanarkshire.
Jennifer Shearer, SEPA’s National Duty Manager said:
“On Saturday 29 June at 16:40, SEPA were notified of a fire at Greengairs Landfill Site, North Lanarkshire.
SEPA have attended the site to assess any potential environmental impact. We are engaging with the site operator and Scottish Fire & Rescue Services and will continue to monitor the situation and respond as required.
