Digital strategy cover paper
Purpose and recommendations
Following engagement with Digital Champions, the Digital Strategy is attached for Board discussion and approval. SEPA’s Digital Strategy sets out a clear path to becoming a modern, digitally enabled regulator capable of delivering improved outcomes for Scotland. It responds to public sector reform expectations and addresses SEPA’s current digital challenges, including fragmented systems, legacy technologies and siloed data.
The Strategy prioritises modern digital services, improved customer experience, strengthened data capabilities, secure and interoperable architecture, and the adoption of AI and automation to drive efficiency and regulatory effectiveness. Delivered through a phased roadmap from 2025–2034, the Strategy provides the digital foundations required to support SEPA’s wider organisational transformation and ensure resilient, user‑centred, data‑driven public services.
The Board is asked to discuss and approve the Digital Strategy.
