Net Zero Routemap - 2024-2026 Summary
Our aim
We aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to at least net zero by 2035.
Our target
We will reduce our direct greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by March 2026. This is against a baseline that was set in 2022/23.
Our work areas
Our route map sets out the work that will be required by all SEPA staff and teams to achieve our aim and target. It descries action that will be required in the following areas:
- Our people: We will bring emission reduction to the centre of SEPA’s values and behaviours.
- Our workspaces: We will reduce direct emissions from our workspaces alongside adapting them to the hybrid era.
- Our travel: We will reduce direct emissions from travel by reducing miles travelled and increasing use of low emission vehicles.
- Our computers and technology: We will change the way we buy and use computers and IS equipment to reduce emissions.
- Our money and spending: We will better understand the emissions associated with our purchasing alongside reviewing what we buy.
- Regenerative action: We will prepare to offset residual emissions by working with partners and developing a pipeline of environmental regeneration projects.
